There are times where you put in the hours of effort and sacrifice yet things don’t work out as planned.
When this happens don’t hesitate, doubt or feel like you’re not enough. Don’t concern yourself with rejection. Don’t concern yourself with failure.
Doing so will only lead to frustration and drain energy.
Instead, have pride in knowing that you had the courage to put yourself out there and be vulnerable. That you had the courage to hold yourself to a higher standard by not settling for the status quo.
Then go back at it again.
The reason being that every time you get knocked down and then get back up again, your psychology is being conditioned.
More specifically, you’re building and strengthening the behaviors of hunger and resiliency.
Both of which are vital to the future of your career.
Also recognize that skill development is important but it’s your “will” that ultimately determines how far you take your skills.
Therefore, when you put in the hours of effort and things don’t work out as planned… View it as a gift. View it as an extraordinary opportunity to build and strengthen your “will”.
Approaching it this way will make adversity your greatest asset.
Further, when taking this approach it’s not a matter of if it will happen… It’s a matter of when.
The Ascent is about the adventures of Rocky and Blake… Just a boy with his dog documenting the experience of building YPE. The series is written from the following perspective: Advice I give to myself based on the lessons learned every day.
