What good comes from worrying? Does it have any benefits?
Looking back on past experiences worry has brought stress, overwhelm and anxiety. Not to mention, much of what was worried about never even happened.
So, is there any good that comes from worrying?
I think there is (at least to a certain extent).
The reason?
The moment we experience the feeling of worry it’s a signal that we need to get ready for something. Whether it’s bringing certainty to the unknown or it could very well be a sign that we need to prepare for a big opportunity that’s coming.
Put another way, it’s our intuition talking and we must listen to it.
But here’s the thing…
The moment worrying hits is the same moment where we must direct that nervous energy to the solution.
This comes back to the fact that anytime we operate out of a state of worry we’ll never be productive. I mean, how could we if we’re experiencing stress, overwhelm and anxiety?
Thus the reason why we must always remember the following:
It’s ok to experience the feeling of worry. However, it’s never healthy to live in a state of worry.
So, the next time you experience that feeling of worry recognize that it’s your intuition telling you something.
Listen to it. Then redirect that nervous energy into creating a solution that will bring certainty and confidence to whatever situation is causing you to worry.
